Our Disney Vacation Necessities

  1. Portable Phone Charger

It’s wonderful to be able to use your phone for everything (from opening your hotel door, park admission, to most importantly your photos) BUT that means that your phone battery can quickly fade away. We have tried many different portable chargers and have found this one to be our favorite by far.

  1. Multiple Charging Port

Let’s be honest, we travel with a lot of technology. Phones, tablets, smart watches, and even our MagicBand+ need charged and finding enough outlets can be rough to make sure all our necessities are charged. Here are a few different multi device charging units that might come in handy. We tend to lean toward the simply multiport tower because it’s super easy to pack!

  1. Sunscreen & After Sun Care

This one may seem obvious, but it can also be super easy to forget! Each family has their preference on sunscreens, but here are links to our favorites! The face sunscreen was a game changer in our daily summer lives! We have also come to love this after sun product for those days we feel we’ve gotten a bit too much.

  1. Backpack

A good backpack is a necessity. There is some personal preference to this as well, but as a mom who carries all the things to make our trip go as smoothly as possible it’s important. When we take a stroller I keep a bag in the bottom of the stroller with our snacks, water bottles, extra clothes or socks, etc. If we leave the bag at the bottom of the stroller we make sure it only has replaceable items just incase it should disappear. I always just carried a smaller backpack with the necessities. Now that we are to the days of no stroller we will be carrying our backpack all day meaning we needed a good one that is also comfortable (or as comfortable as can be in the Florida heat).

  1. Water Bottles

Florida is hot… and it is easy to get dehydrated. Even though Disney’s quick service restaurants are always happy to give you a cup of ice water it may not always be the most convenient. We take ours and fill them up whenever needed. These are the ones that we have found to be the best on our trips. They keep water cold (we do fill them with ice in the morning), and the spouts lock in place.

  1. First Aid Kit

Disney has a great first aid station, but again it may not be the most convenient. I have found keeping a smaller first aid kit in my bag is helpful. You never know when you might need a bandaid. These kits have quickly become my favorites! The Mini Kit is usually perfect for us!

  1. Ponchos or Rain Jackets

It’s going to rain… Most people love to keep ponchos with them so that the rain doesn’t slow them down. You can usually find ponchos at Dollar Tree or Walmart, but there are also a few options on Amazon. Our family personally doesn’t care for ponchos, we just get wet (we do carry dry socks in our backpack though). I have taken a lightweight rain jacket for myself which I do find more comfortable than ponchos. Disney also sells great ponchos, but they are more expensive than disposable ones. However if something happens to them they will replace them for you.

  1. Cooling Towels

Lots of families like cooling towels. They’ll put them in ziplock bags with a little ice (that will melt), and then they will run them under cold water throughout the day. Anything to help make the Florida heat feel a bit better.

  1. Fans and Stroller Fans

Again, Florida heat can be rough, fans can be another way to help provide some relief. We use our old stroller fans and clip them to our backpack or just carry them. We really like our stroller fan, even when not used with a stroller.

  1. Magic Band Bit Belts

These are great for making sure MagicBands and MagicBand+ stay secure on your wrist. Especially for those busy kids. We have also used hair ties/ponytail holders to keep them secured.

  1. Sunglasses

Don’t forget the sunglasses. I have to promote my favorite, but they are not usually available on Amazon. They really are unbreakable and are super comfortable! If you or your children have a tendency to lose sunglasses a glasses strap may not be a bad idea for your trip! There’s so much to see and do losing glasses can happen so fast, just ask my husband!
